Dedicated time brings quality to us and others.

Great news, you may think. “Dedicated time brings quality to us and others”! As if we would need to be told. Bull……..!

But give me a minute, there is far more to it.

On the surface, we all know about the influence time spend with our kids, our partner, friends and family have. But what is the prerequisite of becoming aware of it at the right time?

Usually, we are busy thinking. There is so much to do, so much to deal with to make ends meet and, in most cases, to keep us distracted and busy.

Busy because we are addicted to the rush of everything unfolding. It keeps us away from the fundamental truth which happens to throw a shadow over our lives without us even noticing.

What I am referring to is the fact that the time of our life is limited, we are going to die.

Imagine only for a moment what a humans lifespan is in comparison to the geological processes taking place simultaneously on the planet. We are but a day-fly.  Insignificant, you may even say, but all-important to ourselves and our loved ones.

Now, let’s work out the tremendous change of perception we gain once we allow ourselves the time to contemplate this fundamental truth. Everything changes; our values change, time becomes the most valuable commodity. No money can buy time! And time only ever comes as the moment called “NOW”.

But before we can appreciate and value the moment called “NOW”. We need to realise it for ourselves. We need to enter the door to our own moment, to the time when the breath calls us to live, right here and now.

It almost sounds to simple to have any effect. But the contrary is the case!

Directing the focus to the breath causes our whole perception to change. We are no longer tied to the river of thought continually flowing through our mind. We’re no longer bound to the prison of personality and possession. Slowly but surely this new way to identify with the fundamental truth of life gives us the freedom to see the real value time has in store for us.

And then, the real game can unfold.

By being present, the mistakes we make are reduced to a minimum. Consciously we are partaking in the creational flow of life unfolding. Love is what provides the primary colour of the glasses through which we look into the world. The obstacle of thought and judgement is suppressed, while the crystal-clear vision of the living presents is taking over.

That precisely is where children are most of the time. And that is where they can be reached. Intuitively they know when to let go of their temper when presence is offered. They feel, and don’t analyse like we do, but pick up when an adult is moving into their world sharing perspective and offering guidance.

Their temper may sometimes be so involving that everybody present is in danger to lose their foothold as well. The resolve is still always better supported by patience than force, as force will leave scars and scars will result in more force later in their lives.

So, instead of us rushing by in our frenzy to stay in control of the things we have to manage, let’s take note of what it is that enables us to take that control in the first place, the life, the awareness without which there would be no experience at all.

And once we do, let’s take heed to the moment we are a part of, let’s pay attention to what we are exposed and help to solve it with foresight, compassion and the deep understanding that what we are committing to is providing service to the intelligent force of life itself. We are taking on what we came here to do, the responsibility of an artist, a creator!
