Who’s me?
My name is Richard Rickert.
I was born and raised in Germany, learned to be an artist and ran a pottery studio for most of my life.
Combining creativity & family life
By the age of thirty, I moved to Australia and became an Australian citizen. This was very important to me, as I identify with Australia and its generous people much more than I have ever with Germany.
We, that is my former partner Maria and our four children carved a living from the Australian bush, bought a 2000 hectare property after selling what we had achieved in the old country and enjoyed many years of living a free life being creative.
What is now called “The Old Schoolhouse” and available for accommodation, was originally build for our children to spend their school years getting private tutoring and “School of the Air”.
Our Story
Considering that for the first 14 years there was no proper road excess, the local council from 30 km away Coonabarabran recognized our potential as young pioneering entrepreneurs and supported the building of an all-weather dirt road.
A Life Of An Artist…
Turning 60 for being late, it dawned on me, that without much of an income once I can’t push much clay anymore, I would be bound for a pretty confined lifestyle, to put it mildly.
But there always was this urge in me to share what I knew in my heart to be true.
A lifetime of meditation, learning, and thought-provoking inspiring literature had secretly sent me on a path of self-realization.
Haha, I am a wise pensioner now, calling myself the “Travelling Messenger”. Australia is such a wonderful place, letting me explore it by travelling around with car and caravan, while being connected to the internet via StarLink.
The use of the internet connects me to thousands of like-minded people from all over the planet. I love sharing my knowledge about appreciating life and feeling good and grateful for it.
To say it simply: “We are here to reflect and enjoy the wonders of life!” Actually, to my understanding, there is nothing but God. What we call evil is just a state of not knowing. And, of course, we are ignorant! Being ignorant can cost our own, or someone elses life.
For the future, which only ever comes as the present, I am hoping that we make a quatum leap into a very positiv, peacefull time!
