The Grand Canyon

My Dear Readers,
As this is going to be my first newsletter in the English language, it will come out as a surprise, even to me.
Till now, I haven’t set up my English website www.richardrickert.com to accommodate new subscribers, so that this time, I can bypass an explanation of who I am and what I am about.
Receiving this English version of my newsletter will soon determine who, either can read and understand this world-language, or has the skills of having it translated by Google or some AI agent.
Let’s begin:
Forever more, it turns out that we are living in a time when events seem to repeat themselves. Polit historians of all descriptions are letting us know, that compared with what has happened in history, we are already in an advanced state of preparing for war.
This time, like in times before, Western nations, the once producing and selling the weapon supply to the world, are to go to war against one another.
Is there a possibility to prevent it?
While not claiming to know the ultimate solution, thought spent on the issue concerned, will not be lost.
We are speaking from a developed nation’s point of view!
We have everything.
Our lives are so organized, so well prepared to turn every day into a comfortable event, that I dare say, little can be improved to make it any better.
Streets, I remember, displaying the presence of bicycles in front of the houses, are now cluttered by cars. Good cars, new cars, not just any old cars.
Even low-income earners are receiving their paid holidays, health insurance, and can look forward to a regulated pension age. What really is there to be improved in the material realm?
To be of different opinion under these conditions, spells out war.
As I was blessed to travel around the world, I got to speak to many people about the Covid-Crisis, which hit us all equally.
I did not come across one nation to say, everything passed them smoothly and without conflict.
Most people spoke of an abrupted situation, in which people who used to communicate, turned against each other, aggressively defending their point of view.
What I am getting at is that we ought to change!
And thinking about our standing in the world.
How can we change?
There surely would be scope to share the material wealth we enjoy with other parts of the world. But that is well underway and will happen in due course.
What we still find difficult to do is to change our perspective on other human beings, as long as our habitual way of life is threatened.
Yes, cultures of migrants need to adapt rather than try to dominate the culture that freely welcomed them and supported their plight.
In the face of war though, we ought to take a step further in our trying to give our best.
What is our best?
To my understanding the best human beings have to offer is their understanding of themselves.
We all, no matter what creed or cultural origin, are born into this life to suddenly recognize our presence. The same applies to our parting. The body we so highly value, and the personality attached to it, will die. Nobody is to escape this reality.
We are all the same!
No matter where we are from, what language we speak, and what cultural habits we follow, we are all of the same origin, we all spring from the great source, generating life and everything else in existence.
Accordingly we need to understand ourselves before we attempt to tell others what is right or wrong.
What is it, we all share apart from the basic human characteristics?
Knowing by now that a developing change to our exterior circumstances will hardly prevent conflict, we need to come to the understanding, that an inner development only can change our perspective of one another.
This inner door of understanding oneself and others lies in the recognition of what we call consciousness, or awareness!
Till now, we happen to think, the ability to think and thought itself makes for our identity.
Wrong! Without awareness, human life would not be possible!
No matter what kind of situation we find ourselves in, if depressed or utterly happy, it is our consciousness that lets us know what we feel. Without it we could neither act nor look after ourselves in any way.
What we call consciousness is not within our brains, it is the source from which everything derives. Even those manifestations we call lifeless.
Equally we share consciousness with everyone else. Knowing and learning about what it is and how it applies to our lives, states clearly that we not only receive it like anyone else, but we share it with everyone else as well.
Coming back to the looming war, explained to be in the progressive stages already.
It will not be prevented by any kind of exterior development. The technology of AI, coming with the potential of providing vital clues about the direction to take globally, will be used to try and outperform our so-called enemies.
Instead, an understanding of who we are as a global family can and will prevent the total annihilation of mankind!
Just imagine what else the recognition of consciousness could do for you.
It would finally take away the fear of death most of us maintain throughout our lives, causing us to make limited decisions in many aspects concerning what we do and how we behave.
Let us realize who we are as human beings! That we are conscious, eternal souls, having a human experience, relating to a greater spirit, which manifests not only us, but everything else in this cosmos.
Thank you for the time you took to read these words!
I am dedicated to spreading this news, and full of hope to reach as many of us as possible, knowing that I am not alone with this task.
My kindest regards to you all,
Richard C. Rickert

Just the upper two layers, consisting of limestone, cover two hundred and fifty million years in the making. They used to be a seafloor before they were lifted up and the water retreated. In them, we find the traces and remnances of the dinosaures.
Looking at myself, I see the pride and joy expressed on my face to have made the mark on my “Bucket-List”, the Grand-Canyon. And what is more convincing than the background supporting all my feelings about the real size of life!?

Considering it’s depth, looking down into it, it was almost hard to comprehend that the view went down nearly two kilometers (1.2 Miles).
In this picture, the bottom layer, shiny black and more than 3.4 billion years old, called “Shiva Schist” after the Hindu Goddess, referring to its ancient origin, is clearly visible.
All over the world we are reminded of our ancient heritage, never to be bored, always keeping in awh about who and what we are.

Above samples of the “Shiva Schist”, the base layer of the Grand-Canyon. A piece of it finds itself being displayed on the rim walk, also called “Time-Walk”.
The rock itself is shiny and black. A form of granite that formed at the beginning of time. It was exposed to enormous pressures and, of course, takes even a sturdy river like the Colorado millennia’s to carve into.
